Prof. (Dr) Ashutosh Sharma Sr. Vice-President of Cycling Association of J&K has filed a case in the Hon’ble Court of 3rd Civil Subordinate Judge (Special Excise Mobile Magistrate Jammu) who vide order dated 15.07.2023 observed that it is settled that the election process once initiated cannot be stayed. As there was no stay order by any Hon’ble Court, the election of the Association for 16.07.2023 was held at Amar Singh Club Jammu at 05.00 Pm.
In the election meeting, Om Parkash a veteran Cyclist from grass root level is the new president of Cycling Association of J&K. He was elected unanimously as per result declared by the Returning Officer in the presence of 19 Members & two observers from J&K UT Olympic Association Sh. Kuldeep Singh Jamwal and Prof. Harwant Singh Chib.Other office bearers who was declared elected by the Returning Officer in accordance with the constitution are Sr. Vice-President Ravi Salgotra, Vice-Presidents, Mushtaq Ahmed (Srinagar),Ajay Sharma (Jammu),Hony. General Secretary Dr. Vikesh Kumar,Joint Secretaries,Dr. Mohd. Akbar Khan (Srinagar),Sahil Raina (Jammu),Hony Treasurer S. Sarabjit Singh.
Agenda items were taken one by one & passed by the house unanimously include Minutes of last Annual General Body Meeting were passed. Report of activities of Association was adopted.Accounts of the Association duly audited by the Chartered Accountants from 2016 to the end of the March,2022 were also passed.It was announced by the newly elected president that the other office bearers and Executive members will be nominated by a 05 members Committee of Senior members. The constitution will be amended and a post of Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Associate Vice-Presidents and Associate Secretary will be created. The Association will work under the patronage of Prof. (Dr) Ashutosh Sharma , Sh. Zamir Thakur and S. H.S Gill.
