In a collaborative effort to bridge the gap between the cooperative sector and the various sections of society, Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir Economic Growth & Development Dialogue (LEAD) organized a highly productive review meeting on Cooperative Policy and its implementation, ensuring equitable benefits across society. The primary focus of the meeting was to seek suggestions from stakeholders in the cooperative world on how to make sure that cooperative movement reaches every geographical corner of UT of J&K and stakeholders of various trades get maximum benefits of Govt.’s Cooperative initiatives; and in case there are any difficulties being experienced by public, the same may be documented and appropriate suggestions be made to concerned authorities.
The meeting, held on 25/7/2023 at LEAD Head Office, Jammu, and chaired by Shri Rajesh Gupta, LEAD Cooperative Sector Head in presence of LEAD board members Shri Rajeev Gupta CA and Shri Harinder Gupta, brought together prominent representatives from the cooperative sector, social activists, and prominent personalities to engage in a constructive dialogue. Prominent Stakeholders from Cooperative Sector namely Shri Bikram Singh from Sehkar Bharti, Shri Chander Mohan Sharma from Tawi India Foundation Ltd., Shri Vikrant Dogra from J&K Diary Cooperative Federation Ltd., Dr Nidhi Pathania & Neetu Dhar from Jammu Pariyatan Vikas Co. Ltd., Smt. Sanchaita Pradhan from Shilpkari Bazaar, Shri Darshan Chowdhary, Shri Naresh Katal, Shri Sahil Bhagat, Shri Sanjeev Sharma and other organization’s president and members were present. The event fostered an environment of open communication and mutual understanding, providing a platform for all participants to express their views candidly. During the meeting, several issues affecting the well-being of the lower section of society were discussed.
Speaking at the event, Shri Rajesh Gupta, LEAD Cooperative Sector Head stated, “We are grateful to all participants for establishing cooperative movement in J&K and sharing their valuable insights today. This meeting marks the beginning of a collaborative journey towards positive change. The inputs provided will serve as a solid foundation for crafting solutions small hurdles being faced by Cooperative stakeholders during implementation of present Govt.’s Cooperative Policy that empowers the marginalized and ensures their integration into the economic mainstream.”
LEAD firmly believes that the private sector has a significant role to play in driving societal progress and addressing the most pressing challenges faced by the various section of society. With the information gathered during this meeting LEAD’s representatives, listening attentively to the issues raised and suggestions put forth, assured all participants of the initiative’s commitment to addressing these concerns.
